Twitch Sub Badges

What are Twitch Sub Badges?

Twitch Sub Badges or Loyalty Badges are small icons that are displayed in front of the name of the subscriber in your chat. They symbolize the duration – and thus also loyalty and support – of a subscriber to the streamer and its stream. They usually just start and “evolve” with the duration of the subscription. The twitch badges can change with the duration of the subscription in many ways. They can change color, build up piece by piece or change completely. There are many different badge levels. If you are a Twitch partner, you have the possibility to add even more levels. These can be edited by the streamer itself. The different levels are usually divided into time periods. (An example for a division is: 1-2 month(s) badge, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, …)

Twitch Sub Badges are a perfect way to promote your individuality as a streamer and to give something back to your supporters for their support. The Twitch Subscriber Badges are meant to emphasize the social aspect of your stream and serve as a small reward for loyal fans. With Twitch Subscriber Badges you can significantly enhance the viewer experience and give your supporters an individual treat. In our store, we provide you with numerous badges and badge designs to choose from.

What types of sub badges are available?

There are many different types of twitch badges. From simple sub badges to very complex badges, everything is possible. First you must decide for yourself which type of sub badges might fit best for you and your stream. Do you want to tailor your Twitch Subscriber Badges to a specific game, such as Valorant Sub Badges, World of Warcraft Shadowlands, Counterstrike, or Among Us? Or do you want the badges to match your community or streamer personality? Or maybe something completely different, like your favorite food or the ranking of the army, like our Army Sub Badges? There is almost no limit to your imagination when it comes to design. The only restrictions are the community guidelines and the terms of service of the respective streaming website, such as Twitch.

There is a special type of Sub Badge that your subscribers can get. This is called the Founders Badge and is given specifically to the first ten subscribers for affiliates and the first 25 subscribers for Twitch partners. Unfortunately, these badges cannot be individualized, but they are a great honor for your founders.

What do Sub Badges do for me?

Sub Badges give your community and your subscribers a little something back. They reward your subscribers for their loyalty and support of your stream with an icon in front of their name. This way the subscribers can feel part of your community and the thought and affiliation to your stream increases. Thanks to these icons your supporters get a “physical reward” for their loyalty and support. Sub badges are not essential for your success as a streamer, but they do add value to your stream, especially the experience of your viewers and subscribers is greatly enhanced. Sub Badges are meant to awaken the sense of honor of your subscribers and to amaze them as prestige objects. The highest supporter rank is not so easy to get, only as a loyal fan you can join the ranks of those who present the highest awards and thus reach the subscriber Olympus. If you are looking for suitable subscriber badges for your stream you should first look at your games. For example, if you play a lot of Valorant we have Twitch Subscriber Badges for you in the form of the ranks of the game. There are generally many ways to find a suitable design for your stream. Also, your personality could give you the right hint.

What format must my Subscriber Badges have?

There are three different sizes that are relevant for you and your sub badges. These are:

  • 18 x 18 pixels
  • 36 x 36 pixels
  • 72 x 72 pixels

The file size must not exceed 25 kB and the file must have a transparent background and be uploaded in PNG format. You need your sub badges in these three sizes to ensure that your twitch badges can be displayed correctly on all devices (i.e. PC, smartphone, and tablet). When you purchase our sub badge products, you will of course receive all products in these three sizes. So, there is nothing to stop you from getting started with your sub badges.

How do I integrate sub badges on Twitch?

  1. go to your “Partner Area” in the “Creator Dashboard
  2. navigate to the “Subscription Area
  3. select “Loyalty Badges
  4. click “Manage Badges” and choose which badge you want to change first
  5. click on the “+” symbol for the three different sizes and upload the respective resolution
  6. now just “Save Changes” and off you go

What are Badge Flairs?

Badge Flairs are small overlays that are placed over your Twitch Badges. These badge flairs are especially reserved for Tier 2 and Tier 3 subscribers and show in the sub badges the level of financial support to the streamer. The standard twitch badge flairs are a small silver star for the Tier 2 subscriber and a golden star with two golden dots for the Tier 3 subscriber. These can also be individualized by the streamer and its community.
The Badge Flairs also need certain requirements:

  • Tier 2 Flair: 18 x 18 pixels, 36 x 36 pixels and 72 x 72 pixels
  • Tier 3 flair: 18 x 18 pixels, 36 x 36 pixels and 72 x 72 pixels

Again, the file size must not exceed 25 kB and the file must have a transparent background and be uploaded in PNG format. In addition, the Twitch Term of Service and Community Guidelines must also be observed here. The badge flairs that are available from us, as well as the sub badges, are provided in all used formats. The three different formats are also used here for better compatibility on all end devices.

How do I integrate Badge Flairs?

  1. go to your “Partner Area” in the “Creator Dashboard
  2. click on “Upload Custom Flair
  3. in the drop down menu you can select Tier 2 or Tier 3 and then upload the necessary formats of your flair (from left to right 18 x 18 pixels, 36 x 36 pixels and 72 x 72 pixels)
  4. in the “Flair Preview” you can view your finished sub badges with flair. Select the desired combination of sub badge and flair in the drop down menu under “Manage Badges”.
  5. just click on “Save Changes” and your sub badges are ready

Can I also create custom badges myself?

Of course, you can design your own custom badges. All you need is a little bit of imagination and maybe a little bit of inspiration from Pinterest etc. You should have a good idea of what your stream stands for and how your subscribers tick and then you can start with your own design. We use Photoshop from Adobe for our badge designs, but if that is not for you, there are free alternatives like: Gimp, Photo works or Krita.

Our best Twitch Sub Badges 2020

Our Valorant Sub Badges are 3rd in the race for the best Twitch Subscriber Badges this year. The game, a mixture of Counter Strike and Overwatch, unfortunately only enjoyed a big hype at the start and has disappeared from the scene a bit during this year. Accordingly, the badges were no longer in great demand. Nevertheless, these Twitch Badges are still a top designed eye-catcher and a must for every real Valorant Streamer.

A real highlight is the 2nd place this year, with the Twitch Sub Badge “Army Ranks”, climbing the subscriber career ladder is a real honor for every supporter. These US Military style badges have been kept in comic style to keep the design fresh for many years and should easily clarify the ranking in your chat. The battle for the title of Subscriber General is now open.

Our Star Twitch Subscriber Badges are the clear winners of this year’s ranking. These timeless Subscriber Badges are color-coded according to the ranking system of games such as Rocket League or League of Legends, where ordinary copper, silver, gold and diamond climb up and something special ranks on the last two. If that does not encourage your subscribers to stay loyal, then it should at least encourage new viewers to take a closer look at your subscription button.

Our conclusion is that Subscriber Badges are worth the investment. No matter what subscriber badges you choose, your subscribers will thank you for it. Even if it seems to be only a small addition to your stream, it will leave a lasting impression on your viewers. Badges are together with Individual Emotes one of the most valuable additions to your chat and will help your channel grow in the long run. The Subscriber Badges are not absolutely necessary but give your subscribers a good reason to stay your subscribers. Furthermore, they can strengthen your personality as a streamer. If you decide to make your own subscriber badges, pay attention to the size of the badges (18×18, 36×36, 72×72) and make sure that you save them with a transparent background and as PNG. Once you have a good idea for the design of your badges, nothing will stand in your way. If you are not a creative person, you are welcome to have a look around in our store.
